Disease originated in Africa but its outbreak occurred in 89 countries since January 2022. As per the World Health Organization report, in between January 1, 2022, and August 10, 2022, 27,814 confirmed cases and 11 deaths occurred across 89 countries. Monkey pox is a viral infection which may occur in humans as well as in animals. Rope squirrel (Funisciurus spp.), Gambian pouched rat (Cricetomys gambianus), and Sooty mangabey monkey (Cercocebus atys) are suspected reservoir host for monkey pox. Its symptoms are similar to but milder than small pox. As orthopox viruses are morphologically identical to each other, Polymerase chain reaction is only test for detection of monkey pox-specific DNA signatures. There is no specific treatment for monkey pox infection but as monkey pox and small pox infections are hereditarily comparative so antiviral medications and antibodies created to safeguard against small pox are generally prescribed to prevent and treat monkey pox. One of the important measures for prevention from monkey pox is small pox vaccination to the individual and also to the healthy people in occupation who are at high risk of exposure except in immunocompromised individuals.
2022-12-01T00:00:00+0530 Copyright (c) 2022 PRIYANKA KAMARIA, SOURAV GUHA GLOBAL HEALTH ISSUES WITH CONFLICT ESCALATION AMONG PANDEMIC, CLIMATE, AND ECONOMIC CRISES 2022-12-23T14:11:22+0530 ABDUL KADER MOHIUDDIN [email protected]
Religion, governance, and politics - as well as related topics such as human rights, justice, and so on - have historically caused many of the world’s most significant conflicts, and they continue to do so because these issues are often the most fundamental in the structure of a society. To gain a military advantage, parties to armed conflicts have polluted water, burned crops, cut down forests, poisoned soils, and killed animals over the years. A variety of context factors, particularly socioeconomic conditions, governance, and political factors, interact and play a key role in translating climate change into conflict risks. The present unrest all over the world risks putting more than half of the countries into a crisis of health, economy, and social safety, which remains the most constant threat to human civilization. The security and safety of health-care facilities, workers, and supply lines remain paramount concerns, along with access to health services, technology, and innovation.
2023-01-21T00:00:00+0530 Copyright (c) 2022 ABDUL KADER MOHIUDDIN A REVIEW ON RESTORATIVE AND THERAPEUTIC POTENTIAL OF NUTRACEUTICALS 2023-05-04T13:17:14+0530 ABHINAY KUMAR DWIVEDI [email protected]
The food products basically known for its nutritional profile, nutraceuticals are food or food derived products with additional characteristic to minimize occurrence and prevention of certain chronic diseases. The rational use of these nutraceuticals not merely gives us nutrition and restoration but also support to fight against diseases and overcome illness. Wide variety of food and dietary supplements i.e. dietary fiber, probiotics, prebiotics, polyunsaturated fatty acids, antioxidant vitamins, carotenoids, polyphenols and spices have proven to potential health benefit and could be used as nutraceuticals. This review primarily focused on food source, health benefit, regulatory challenges and market potential of nutraceuticals.
2023-06-06T00:00:00+0530 Copyright (c) 2023 ABHINAY KUMAR DWIVEDI ASSESSMENT OF TREATMENT OUTCOME AND ASSOCIATED FACTORS OF BACTERIAL MENINGITIS AT PEDIATRICS WARD IN MIZAN TEPI UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITAL. SNNPR, SOUTHWEST ETHIOPIA 2023-03-20T11:22:18+0530 TSEGAYE NIGUSSIE [email protected] BELETE BIRHANU [email protected]
Objective: The aim is to assess the treatment outcome and associated factors of bacterial meningitis in the pediatric ward of Mizan Tepi University teaching hospital, southwest Ethiopia.

Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted among pediatrics between the ages of (0 and 15 years) admitted to the Pediatric ward of MTUTH from January 1, 2015, to December 31, 2017. Data were collected through a Data abstraction checklist from March 10 to 22, 2018. Data were entered using the EPI-INFO (version 3.5.1) and then transferred to SPSS (version 21) for the analysis, and bivariate analysis was performed for all independent variables, and variables with p<0.25 were selected to fit multivariate logistic regression. Finally, multivariate logistic regression was performed to determine independent predictors of poor outcomes. An odds ratio and 95% confidence interval were used, and the level of statistical significance was considered at p<0.05.

Results and Discussion: The results of this study were analyzed for 99 patients treated for acute bacterial meningitis. The most frequently used initial antibiotic regimen in young infants was ampicillin plus gentamycin (87.5%). While most of the older infants and children, 71 (78%) were initially managed with ceftriaxone. Among the treated patients, 76 (76.76%) were improved and 23 (23.23%) of them had poor outcomes (11.1% died, 9.1% Left against medical advice, and 3% were Referred to a Higher facility. The determinant factors of poor outcome of pediatrics treated for bacterial meningitis were duration of illness before hospital admission AOR=11.26, 95% CI (1.8–68), vomiting (AOR=4.9, 95%CI (1.2–19.9) and AB regimen changes (AOR=4.6, 95% CI (1.72–20.43) independent predictors of poor outcomes.

Conclusion: To conclude that, this study has shown the initial antimicrobial regimen used was almost in line with the recommendation. At discharge around 25% of the pediatric patients treated for bacterial meningitis, experienced poor outcomes, which implicates the need for more attention during treatment. Duration of illness before hospital admission most independently predicts the incidence of poor outcomes.
2023-05-28T00:00:00+0530 Copyright (c) 2023 TSEGAYE NIGUSSIE, BELETE BIRHANU QUANTIFICATION OF PRESERVATIVES IN PROCESSED FOOD PRODUCTS BY TITRIMETRIC METHOD 2023-05-15T13:53:08+0530 BHAVYA SRI K [email protected] SAILEELA S [email protected] SHAHEEN BANU [email protected] MOGILISUMAKANTH [email protected]
Objectives: A preservative is a substance or a chemical that is added to the products, such as food products, beverages, and pharmaceutical drugs. The main objective involved in food preservative-specific additives is added to prevent the growth of microorganisms and spoilage of food. The spoilage of food can be caused by the growth of bacteria which can lead to changes in texture and appearance.

Methods: In general, preservation is implemented in two modes chemical and physical. Chemical preservation entails adding chemical compound to the product and physical preservation entails processes such as drying.

Results: The preservatives in this article can be determined using the titrimetric method. In this article, the titration was carried out against 0.5 N NaOH, and bromothymol blue is used as an indicator.

Conclusion: The proposed method was found to be very easy, simple, and cost-effective.
2023-10-26T00:00:00+0530 Copyright (c) 2023 BHAVYA SRI K, SAILEELA S, SHAHEEN BANU, MOGILISUMAKANTH A REVIEW ON NATURAL SKIN LIGHTENING AGENTS 2023-10-04T14:55:30+0530 Abhinay kumar Dwivedi [email protected]
Natural bleaching agents are the natural metabolites mostly obtained from plants as well as from other natural sources implied to reduce or alter melanin production in the human body. Many natural compounds exert their efficiency as skin lightening agent, i.e., vitamin C, E and niacinamide flavonoids, phenolic compounds, arbutin, kojic acid, azelaic acid, Mulberroside F, Aloin, aloesin, Glabridin, liqriritin, N-acetyl glucosamine has found as a substantial compound obtained from a natural source and could be used reduce skin condition that causes hyperpigmetation. Natural bleaching agents could be better alternatives to synthetic bleaching agents due to their biocompatatibily to the human skin.
2023-11-14T00:00:00+0530 Copyright (c) 2023 Abhinay kumar Dwivedi
